Schismus barbatus (Common Mediterranean Grass) is a species of annual herb in the family true grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to North America, mediterranean region, and Africa. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Eleodes armata, Cordylospasta opaca, Inflated Beetle, and 7-spot ladybird. Individuals can grow to 0.067 m.
