Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf. Poaceae. CN: [Malay - Serai], Lemongrass, West Indian lemongrass, Taglad (Philippines). Native of South East Asia and widely cultivated for culinary flavoring, source of essential oils in masking fragrance in perfumery, lipids and in folklore medicine. Clump forming grass up to ca 1.8 m tall, 1.2 m wide. The leaves are tapered at both ends and are up to ca 1 m long x ca 1.2 cm wide with scabrous margins. Synonym(s):
