Die Bach-Sternmiere (Stellaria alsine), auch Quell-Sternmiere genannt, ist eine Pflanzenart in der Familie der Nelkengewächse (Caryophyllaceae).
Diese mehrjährige krautige Pflanze erreicht Wuchshöhen bzw. Länge von etwa 10 bis 40 cm. Die Laubblätter sind sitzend oder kurz gestielt, länglich-lanzettlich, spitz, in der Mitte am breitesten, einnervig und am Grund etwas gewimpert. Sie sind von bläulichgrüner Farbe und saftig.
Der Blütenstand ist meist mehrfach gabelästig. Die Tragblätter sind am Rande kahl und trockenhäutig. Die Kronblätter sind weiß, fast bis zum Grund zweispaltig und etwa 0,75 mal so lang wie der am Grund trichterig verschmälerte Kelch. Die Kelchblätter sind etwa 2,5 bis 3,5 mm lang. Sie blüht von Mai bis Juli.
Die Samen haben eine Länge von etwa 0,6 bis 0,8 mm und sind schwach gerippt.
Die Chromosomenzahl beträgt 2n = 24 oder 26.[1]
Die Pflanze ist ein Selbstaussäer, auf Wegen kommt auch Trittausbreitung vor. Fruchtreife ist von Juli bis September.
Die Bach-Sternmiere wächst in Quellfluren und Quellnischen, an Waldwegen und Gräben. Sie bevorzugt sickernasse, mehr oder weniger nährstoffreiche, kalkarme, neutral-mäßig saure, humose, sandige oder reine Lehm- und Tonböden. Sie ist eine Halbschattenpflanze. Sie ist in Mitteleuropa eine Charakterart des Verbands Cardamino-Montion, kommt aber auch im Carici-Fraxinetum aus dem Verband Alno-Ulmion oder im Stellario-Scirpetum setacei aus dem Verband Nanocyperion vor.[1] In den Allgäuer Alpen steigt sie bis zu einer Höhenlage von 1850 Metern auf.[2]
Stellaria alsine kommt ursprünglich in Europa, in Nordafrika, Madeira, in Indien bis Ostasien und in Nordamerika vor.[3] Sie ist ein eurasisch-subozeanisches Florenelement. In Neuseeland, in Chile und in Indonesien ist sie ein Neophyt.[3]
In Österreich kommt sie zerstreut bis mäßig häufig vor, in der Schweiz ist sie nur stellenweise verbreitet.
Die Bach-Sternmiere kommt in ganz Deutschland zerstreut vor. Stellenweise ist sie auch sehr häufig zu finden.

Stellaria alsine, the bog stitchwort, is a species of herbaceous perennial flowering plant in the carnation family Caryophyllaceae. It grows in bogs and marshes in Europe and parts of North America.
Bog stitchwort is a rhizomatous perennial plant, with smooth, four-angled stems up to 40 cm (16 in) tall.[1] Its leaves are opposite and narrow, up to 13 mm (0.51 in) long, with untoothed margins but a few marginal hairs towards the leaf-base.[1] The flowers are borne in cymes of 1–5, arising from the axils of the higher leaves. Each flower is around 6 mm (0.24 in) in diameter, with 10 stamens, 3 stigmas, five lanceolate–triangular, green-coloured but scarious-margined sepals, and five slightly shorter white petals.[1] The petals are divided into two almost to their base with the two halves angled apart,[1] so that the two halves of each petal lie over parts of adjacent sepals.[2]
Bog stitchwort grows in various types of wetland habitat; in the British Isles, it is especially characteristic of areas poached by cattle.[3] It flowers in spring and early summer.[1]
Bog stitchwort is widespread in central and western Europe, but is rarer in eastern and southern Europe and the northern half of Scandinavia.[4] It is thought to be native to eastern parts of North America, but to be an introduced species in the Pacific Northwest.[1] It has also become naturalised in South America, in Asia, where it has become a weed of rice fields,[5] and on the Kerguelen Islands in the southern Indian Ocean, where it is an aggressive invasive species.[6]
Stellaria alsine was first described by Johann Friedrich Carl Grimm in 1767.[1] The species has also been widely referred to under the junior synonym Stellaria uliginosa.[7]

L'espèce n'est pas encore évaluée à l'échelle mondiale et européenne par l'UICN. En France elle est classée comme non préoccupante [1] : elle est considérée Quasi menacée (NT), proche du seuil des espèces menacées ou qui pourrait être menacée si des mesures de conservation spécifiques n'étaient pas prises, dans la région Poitou-Charentes.
