Heuchera parishii Rydb. sp. nov
Acaulescent and densely cespitose, with a thick caudex ; flowering branches 2-3 dm.
high, glandular-puberulent and sparingly hairy, scapiform, usually viHfth a few toothed
bracts; petioles 2-4 cm. long, wh itehirsute ; leaf-blades rounded-reniform, very round-
lobed, crenate with broad rounded or even truncate teeth, 2-3 cm. in diameter, ciliate on
the margins and sparingly hispidulous on both sides ; hypanthium purplish, campanulate,
glandular-puberulent, together with the broadly oblong sparingly pilose and obtuse sepals
about 5 mm. long ; petals pink, oblanceolate, acute, almost twice as long as the sepals, but shorter than the stamens.
Type collected on Mill Creek, San Bernardino Mountains, California, by S. B. Parish, no. 2512.

Heuchera parishii is a species of flowering plant in the saxifrage family known by the common names Mill Creek alumroot and Parish's alumroot. It is endemic to California, where it is found in the San Bernardino Mountains. This is a rhizomatous perennial herb producing a patch of lobed, kidney-shaped leaves up to four centimeters wide. It bears an erect inflorescence up to about 27 centimeters in height which blooms in dense clusters of salmon-pink flowers. The plant gets its common name from Mill Creek.
