Pellorneum és un gènere d'ocells que ha patit recents reubicacions taxonòmiques. Fins fa poc classificat a la família dels timàlids (Timaliidae), actualment el COI el situa als pel·lornèids (Pellorneidae).

Pellorneum is a genus of passerine birds in the family Pellorneidae. Some of its species were formerly placed in the genus Trichastoma.

Pellorneum is een geslacht van zangvogels uit de familie van de Pellorneidae.^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van het geslacht is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1832 door Swainson.

Zasięg występowania

Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w orientalnej Azji^[3].

Morfologia

Długość ciała 14–17 cm; masa ciała 21–35 g^[4].

Pellorneum: gr. πελλος pellos „ciemno zabarwiony, płowy”; ορνεον orneon „ptak”, od ορνις ornis, ορνιθος ornithos „ptak”^[5].

Pellorneum är ett fågelsläkte i familjen marktimalior inom ordningen tättingar.^[1] Släktet omfattar här 13 arter med utbredning från Himalaya och Sri Lanka till Filippinerna och Sulawesi:^[1][2]

• Svartkronad timalia (P. capistratum)
• Ceylontimalia (P. fuscocapillus)
• Kärrtimalia (P. palustre)

De tre sista arterna urskiljs ofta i släktet Trichastoma, medan malaccense och cinereiceps ofta förs till Malacocincla.^[3] DNA-studier visar dock att de är en del av Pellorneum.^[4] De två arterna i släktet Crocias kallas även de sibior.
