Sphagnum denticulatum is a species of moss belonging to the family Sphagnaceae. It is widely distributed in Europe but it is also found in other parts of the world.[1]
In a study of the effect of the herbicide Asulam on moss growth, Sphagnum denticulatum was shown to be the third most sensitive to the herbicide out of the 18 species tested. The study concluded that it was sensitive to Asulam exposure.[2]

Łodyga luźno rozgałęziona, dorastająca 20 cm długości. Szczyty gałązek bocznych zgięte łukowato. Formy lądowe o dużej główce, która u form wodnych jest mniejsza i gwiazdkowata[3].
Gatunek jest objęty w Polsce ochroną od 2001 roku. W latach 2001–2004 podlegał ochronie częściowej, w latach 2004–2014 ochronie ścisłej, a od 2014 roku ponownie objęty jest ochroną częściową, na podstawie Rozporządzenia Ministra Środowiska z dnia 9 października 2014 r. w sprawie ochrony gatunkowej roślin[4][5][6].
