Annual; stem branched, ascending or spreading, rarely more than 1 dm. long, sparingly strigose; leaves 4-7 cm. long; stipules deltoid, acuminate, strigose, 2-3 mm. long; leaflets 11-17, lance-oblong to elliptic, acute, 6-10 mm. long, 2-3 mm. wide, sparingly strigose beneath, glabrate above; peduncles 1-4 cm. long; racemes 5-8-flowered; calyx strigose with black hairs, the tube 2 mm. long, the lobes 1 mm. long; corolla purple, 6-7 mm. long; banner obovate; wing-petals slightly shorter, the blade obliquely oblanceolate, with a large acute basal auricle; keelpetals similar but more arcuate; pod strigose, sessile, 1-1.5 cm. long, 7-9 mm. wide, obliquely ovoid, acute on the nearly straight upper suture.
