Mimosopsis wherryana Britton, sp. nov
A prickly shrub, 6-10 dm. high, with slender, flexuous, glabrous twigs, the prickles mostly solitary, smoU, recurved. Leaves small, about 1.5 cm. long, or shorter; petiole and rachis puberulent, or short-pubescent; pinnae 1-3 pairs; leaflets 3-6 pairs, oblong, obtuse, or rounded, 1-2 mm. long, puberulent or glabrous; pedtmcles nearly filiform, axillary, pubescent, 6-15 mm. long; flowers glabrous, or the calyx-teeth ciliolate; legume narrowly oblong, glabrate, 2-2.5 cm. long, 5 mm. wide, both margins prickly.
