Schlechterina is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Passifloraceae. The only knowns species is Schlechterina mitostemmatoides.[1]
It is native to Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania and KwaZulu-Natal (in South Africa).[1]
The genus name of Schlechterina is in honour of Rudolf Schlechter (1872–1925), a German taxonomist, botanist, and author of several works on orchids.[2] The Latin specific epithet of mitostemmatoides is a compound word, 'mito-' from Greekμίτος (mítos) meaning thread and stem.[3] It was first described and published in Bot. Jahrb. Syst. Vol.33 on page 148 in 1902.[1]

Budući da je brojna u zaštićenim područjima, ugroženost je na razini niske zabrinutosti. Procjena datirana 26. ožujka 2013. godine.[2]
