Thamnophilus palliatus, tamién denomináu batará llistáu o topeta-listrada (en portugués, Brasil)[2] ye una especie d'ave paseriforme perteneciente al xéneru Thamnophilus qu'integra la familia Thamnophilidae. Habita en América del Sur.
Mide ente 16 y 16,5 cm. Iris mariellu, el machu tien corona negra, estríes negres y blanques nos llaos de la cabeza y parte posterior del pescuezo y partes cimeros, nales y cola ablondu acanelaes; pembaxo ye llistada negru y blancu. La fema ye como'l machu pero cola corona ablondu acanelada y más ablancazada pembaxo coles llistes negres más anches.[3]
Distribúise per Bolivia, Brasil y Perú.
Habita en florestas tropicales y subtropicales húmedes de baxa altitú y montiegues; montes altamente degradaos; plantíos y árees urbanes y rurales habitaes[1] ente 500 y 2300 msnm nos faldeos al este de los Andes y embaxo de los 800 m nel este de Brasil.[3]
Usualmente acomuñar a bandaes mistes y regularmente sigue regueros de formigues nel cantu de la floresta, casi siempres en pareyes.[4]
Bien paecida a Thamnophilus tenuepunctatus; ye un cantar oyíu de cutiu, dáu por dambos sexos, el machu más altu y la fema faciendo ecu. Una serie de notes nasales qu'acelera rápido terminando nuna nota final enfática y más baxa “hah-hah-hai hai-hahahahahahaha-hánh”; recuerda a Thamnophilus doliatus. El llamáu inclúi un nasal “nah”.[3]
La especie T. palliatus describióse per primer vegada pol naturalista alemán Martin Heinrich Carl Lichtenstein en 1823 sol nome científicu Lanius palliatus; llocalidá tipo «Bahia, Brasil».[5]
Foi considerada conespecífica con Thamnophilus tenuepunctatus, pero los dos tienen zones de distribución axuntes ensin barreres aparentes y ensin evidencies de cruzamientos. Dambes pertenecen al llamáu “grupu doliatus”, que tamién inclúi Thamnophilus doliatus, Thamnophilus zarumae, Thamnophilus multistriatus, Thamnophilus torquatus y Thamnophilus ruficapillus. La validez y les llendes de distribución de les subespecies de la presente especie precisen ser reexaminados.[5]

Der Vogel ist etwa 16 bis 17 cm groß und wiegt zwischen 26 und 28 g. Die Iris ist gelb, der kräftige Schnabel ist auf der Oberseite dunkel-, auf der Unterseite hellgrau und hat einen kleinen Haken an der Spitze. Das Männchen hat eine schwarze Haube, die Stirn ist weiß gepunktet, Oberseite, Flügel und Schwanz sind rotbraun, alles andere einschließlich Bürzel ist schwarz-weiß gestreift. Die Flanken haben eine leichte rotbraune Färbung. Das Weibchen unterscheidet sich durch eine kräftig rotbraune Haube, breitere weiße Querbänderung auf der Unterseite und mehr Rotbraun an den Flanken. Bei Jungvögeln ist noch mehr rotbraune Färbung vorhanden.[2]

Der Gesang wird als mäßig lange, schneller werdende Tonfolge von gleichartigen, höher werdenden Tönen beschrieben, die auf einem längeren, betonten, abfallenden Laut enden.[2]
Die Nahrung besteht aus Insekten, die meist einzeln oder als Paar im Dickicht und dichtem hängendem Bewuchs meist oberhalb von 6 m oberhalb des Erdbodens gesucht werden.
Die Brutzeit liegt in Brasilien zwischen Oktober und Januar. Das Gelege besteht aus zwei creme- bis rötlichweißen Eiern mit unregelmäßigen violetten, rotbraunen oder dunkelbraunen Flecken.[2]
Der Bestand gilt als nicht gefährdet (Least Concern).[5]
