Myloplus torquatus is a medium to large omnivorous fish of the family Serrasalmidae from South America, where it is found in the Amazon, the Rio Negro and the Orinoco basins. ^[1] They are also called the silver dollar and are one of the fish referred to as "silver dollars". These fish are capable of delivering serious bites to humans.

Myleus torquatus is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van de echte piranha's (Serrasalmidae).^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1858 door Kner.

項圈鋸腹脂鯉，為輻鰭魚綱脂鯉目脂鯉亞目脂鯉科的其中一個種。分布於南美洲亞馬遜河、黑河及奧里諾科河流域，體長可達16.3公分，棲息在底中層水域，生活習性不明，可作為食用魚。
