The mouselike pipistrelle (Hypsugo musciculus) is a species of vesper bat in the family Vespertilionidae. It is found in Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Gabon. Its natural habitats are subtropical and tropical dry and moist lowland forests.

It is the only species in the genus Hypsugo known to exist in sub-Saharan Africa; all others have been reclassified into the genera Neoromicia or Nycticeinops. However, its exact taxonomic placement remains uncertain.^[2]

Hypsugo musciculus (Thomas, 1913) è un pipistrello della famiglia dei Vespertilionidi diffuso nell'Africa occidentale.^[1][2]

Descrizione

Dimensioni

Pipistrello di piccole dimensioni, con la lunghezza della testa e del corpo di 40 mm, la lunghezza dell'avambraccio tra 23 e 26 mm, la lunghezza della coda tra 21 e 26 mm, e la lunghezza delle orecchie tra 8 e 11 mm.^[3]

Aspetto

La pelliccia è corta, soffice e densa. Il colore generale del corpo è uniformemente bruno-grigiastro scuro. Il muso è largo, con due masse ghiandolari sui lati. Le orecchie sono triangolari, ben separate tra loro e nerastre. Il margine interno dell'orecchio è fortemente convesso alla base, per poi raddrizzarsi verso la punta, mentre il margine esterno è concavo sopra e convesso sotto. Il trago è di proporzioni medie, con il margine interno leggermente concavo, il margine esterno convesso e con un insolito grosso lobo basale anteriore. Le membrane alari sono bruno-nerastre e attaccate posteriormente alla base delle dita dei piedi. La lunga coda è inclusa completamente nell'ampio uropatagio. Il calcar è fornito di un lobo ben sviluppato.

Biologia

Comportamento

Si rifugia tra le fronde di palme Raphia vinifera. Il volo è molto rapido.

Alimentazione

Si nutre di insetti, catturati vicino al terreno e cacciati in gruppi di 4-5 individui.

Riproduzione

Una femmina che allattava è stata catturata in Sierra Leone a metà maggio.

Distribuzione e habitat

Questa specie è diffusa in alcune località del Ghana sud-occidentale, Sierra Leone occidentale, Camerun meridionale, Gabon nord-orientale, Congo centrale e Repubblica Democratica del Congo occidentale.

Vive nelle foreste umide tropicali di pianura, nelle foreste tropicali secche e nella savana guineana.

Stato di conservazione

La IUCN Red List, considerati i continui problemi sulla sua tassonomia come l'assenza di informazioni recenti sul suo areale, i requisiti ecologici e le eventuali minacce, classifica H.musciculus come specie con dati insufficienti (DD).^[1]

Hypsugo musciculus^[2][3] är en fladdermusart som beskrevs av Thomas 1913. Hypsugo musciculus ingår i släktet Pipistrellus och familjen läderlappar.^[4][5] IUCN kategoriserar arten globalt som otillräckligt studerad.^[1] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.^[4]

Denna fladdermus förekommer med flera från varandra skilda populationer i Afrika. Den hittades i Sierra Leone, i Ghana och från södra Kamerun till västra Kongo-Kinshasa. Habitatet varierar mellan torra och fuktiga skogar samt savanner.^[1]

쥐닮은집박쥐(Hypsugo musciculus)는 애기박쥐과에 속하는 박쥐의 일종이다.^[2] 카메룬과 콩고, 콩고민주공화국, 가봉에서 발견된다. 자연 서식지는 아열대 또는 열대 건조림과 습윤 저지대 숲이다.

특징

작은 박쥐로 몸통 길이가 40mm, 전완장이 23~26mm, 꼬리 길이가 21~26mm이다. 귀 길이는 8~11mm이다.^[3] 털이 짧고 부드러우며 모성하다. 몸의 털 색은 대체로 균일하고 짙은 회색빛 갈색을 띤다. 주둥이는 넓다. 귀는 삼각형 모양으로 잘 발달해 잇고 거무스레한 색을 띤다.

생태

라피아 야자나무 잎 사이에서 은신한다. 아주 빠르게 비행한다. 먹이는 땅 위를 낮게 나는 곤충으로 4~5마리씩 무리를 지어 사냥한다. 5월 중순에 시에라리온에서 젖을 먹이는 암컷이 포획된다.

분포 및 서식지

가나 남서부 일부 지역과 시에라리온 서부, 카메룬 남부, 가봉 북동부, 콩고 서부, 콩고 민주 공화국 서부 지역에 널리 분포한다. 습윤 열대 저지대 숲과 건조 열대 숲, 기니 사바나 지대에서 서식한다.
