Sychr's catfish (Corydoras sychri) is a tropical freshwater fish belonging to the Corydoradinae sub-family of the family Callichthyidae. It originates in inland waters in South America, and is found in the Nanay River basin in Loreto, Peru.
The fish grows up to 1.7 inches (4.3 cm). It lives in a tropical climate in water with a 6–8 pH, a water hardness of 2–25 dGH, and a temperature range of 72–79 °F (22–26 °C). It feeds on worms, benthic crustaceans, insects, and plant matter. It lays eggs in dense vegetation and adults do not guard the eggs. The female holds 2–4 eggs between her pelvic fins, where the male fertilizes them for about 30 seconds. Only then does the female swim to a suitable spot, where she attaches the very sticky eggs. The pair repeats this process until about 100 eggs have been fertilized and attached.

Corydoras sychri is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van de pantsermeervallen (Callichthyidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1960 door Weitzman.

Спинний плавець щільний, з 1 жорстких і 7 м'яких променями. Грудні плавці звужені, з 1 жорстким променем. Черевні плавці широкі. Жировий плавець невеличкий. Анальний плавець помірно широкий. Хвостовий плавець увігнутий.
Забарвлення яскраве, сріблясто-білого кольору. Через очі проходить широка чорна смуга. Самі очі є чорними. Верхня частина тулуба та плавці наділена дрібними цяточками.
Є демерсальною рибою. Воліє до прісної та чистої води. Утворює невелички групи. Активен переважно у присмерку та вночі. Живиться хробаками, комахами, дрібними ракоподібними, рештками рослин.
Нерест відбувається у сезон дощів. Самиця відкладає 2-4 яйця до черевних плавців, де їх протягом 30 сек. запліднює самець. Слідом за цим самиця приліплює запліднену ікру до листя або каміння. Загалом таким чином запліднюється та прикріплюється до 100 ікринок.
Є ендеміком Перу. Поширений у басейні річки Нанай.
Зграйна риба, краще утримувати 4-5 особин. Довжина акваріума повинна становити не менше 50 см. Може жити при температурі вище +27 °C, але віддає перевагу температурі нижче +26 °C. Параметри води: рН 6,0-7,6, dH 2-18°.[1]
