Pileus rather thin and tough, convex to plane, becoming depressed at the center, gregarious, 5-8 cm. broad; surface purewhite, glabrous, smooth, margin concolorous, undulate, inflexed when young: context thin, white, edible; lamellae very narrow, crowded, white, sinuate to nearly free, separating from the stipe with age: spores ellipsoid, smooth, hyaline, 4-6 X 3-4 ii: stipe equal or enlarged at the apex, cartilaginous, solid, isabelline to testaceous, blackish at the base, rough with scales pointing upward, 3 cm. long, 3-4 mm. thick.
Type i^OCALITy: Bahia, Brazil.
Habitat: On dead trunks.
Distribution: Cuba, Jamaica, Dominica, and British Honduras; also in Brazil.

Pileus fleshy-coriaceous, subeccentric, plane or depressed, not umbilicate, ^5 cm. broad; surface glabrous, not polished, alutaceous to fuscous, margin repand, involute : lamellae roundedsinuate, crowded, thin, whitish, becoming pallid when dry: spores ellipsoid, smooth, hyaline, 6-7X4-5 ^t: stipe pallid, ligneous but fragile, unequal, curved, often twisted, fibrous-strigose above, 4 cm. long and 4 mm. or more thick.
Type locality: Costa Rica.
Habitat: On dead wood.
Distribution: Louisiana, West Indies, and Costa Rica.

Pileus fleshy, soft, convex to plane and depressed, more or less umbilicate, gregarious, 1-5 cm. broad; surface moist, smooth, viscid, deep-red or chocolate-colored, paler with age, becoming rusty or whitish, margin not striate; lamellae adnate-decurrent, straight, thin, serrate, whitish, then rusty or brownish; spores ovoid, smooth, colorless, 6-7X3 m; stipe central, coriaceous, becoming hard and woody, cylindric, equal, fibrillose throughout, palerusty, 5-6 cm. long, 3-5 mm. thick; annulus apical, fugacious, fibrillose-membranous.
Type locality: Guadeloupe.
Habitat: On rotten trunks of Sloanea Massoni.^
Distribution : Known only from the type locality.

Lentinula boryana is a species of edible[1] agaric fungus in the family Marasmiaceae that is found in subtropical Americas. Originally described as Agaricus boryanus by Miles Joseph Berkeley & Camille Montagne in 1849, it was moved to the genus Lentinula and given its current name by David Pegler in 1976. It is the type species of the genus Lentinula.
