Tithorea tarricina, the tarricina longwing, variable presonian,[1] or cream-spotted tigerwing, is a species of butterfly belonging to the family Nymphalidae.
Tithorea tarricina has a wingspan reaching about 75–80 millimetres (3.0–3.1 in), with a forewing of about 40 millimetres (1.6 in). The pattern of the wings is quite variable. Usually the dorsal sides of the forewings are black with white spots, while the hindwings are orange with black margins. The underside are similar, with many small white spots along the black margins. The antennae are black. The chrysalides are completely golden.
This rare species is present in Mexico and in Central and South America.
Tithorea tarricina can be found at the edges of forested areas in lowlands and mountain slopes, at an elevation up to 1,500 metres (4,900 ft) above sea level. The host plants are in the genus Prestonia (mainly P. longifolia and P. portabellensis – family Apocynaceae).

Tithorea pacifica est un papillon d'une envergure de 70 mm à 80 mm aux ailes antérieures à bord interne concave[3].
Les ailes antérieures sont de couleur marron foncétrès largement tachées de blanc depuis l'apex jusqu'à une ligne de taches allant de la moitié du bord costal à l'angle interne. Les ailes postérieures sont orange bordées de marron avec une ligne submarginale de petits points blancs dans cette bordure marron sur le revers et ornées suivant les sous-espèces d'une tache ronde marron proche de l'apex ou d'une bande partant de l'apex.
La plante hôte de la chenille de Tithorea tarricina pinthias est Prestonia portabellensis[1].
Tithorea tarricina est présent au Mexique, au Guatemala, au Costa Rica, au Honduras, au Nicaragua, à Panama, au Venezuela, en Colombie, en Équateur, en Bolivie et au Pérou[1].
