Ischnothyreus

Ischnothyreus és un gènere d'aranyes araneomorfes de la família dels oonòpids (Oonopidae).^[2] Fou descrit per primera vegada l'any 1893 per Simon.^[1]

Descripció

La mida dels mascles és d'uns 1,25 mm i la femella, 2,25 mm. Tenen sis ulls. Hi ha com a mínim dues espècies –I. peltifer i I. omus–, en la que els mascles tenen una curiosa protuberància, una mena de ganxo, a la base de l'ullal.

Ischnothyreus is a genus of oonopid spiders generally between 1.25 (smallest male) and 2.25 mm (largest female) long. They have six eyes; in at least the species I. peltifer and I. omus, the males have a curious knob or hook at the base of the fang.

Distribution

Les espèces de ce genre se rencontrent en Asie, en Océanie et aux Seychelles. Ischnothyreus velox et Ischnothyreus peltifer sont pantropicales et ont été introduites respectivement en Europe et en Europe et au Canada ; Ischnothyreus browni a peut-être été introduite au Costa Rica^[1].

Description

Systématique et taxinomie

Ischnaspis Simon, 1892 préoccupé par Ischnaspis Douglas, 1887 est remplacé par Ischnothyreus par Simon en 1893.

Ischnothyrella^[4] a été placé en synonymie par Platnick, Berniker et Kranz-Baltensperger en 2012^[5].
