吕宋兰属

Amesiella ist eine polytypische, auf den Philippinen endemische Gattung aus der Tribus Vandeae innerhalb der Familie der Orchideen (Orchidaceae). Sie umfasst nur drei Arten.^[1]

Beschreibung

Die Arten dieser Gattung sind allesamt sehr kleine Epiphyten mit kurzen Sprossachsen. Diese tragen elliptische, ledrige, zweizeilig angeordnete Blätter. Aus den Blattachseln wachsen Trauben, welche weiße Blüten produzieren, welche einen langen Sporn aufweisen. Diese Merkmale weisen auf die Bestäubung durch Nachtfalter hin.^[2]

Gefährdung

Die Arten sind in ihrer Verbreitung limitiert. Eine Art, Amesiella monticola, wurde als vom Aussterben bedroht (CE) eingestuft.^[3]

Amesiella is a genus of orchids endemic to the Island of Luzon, in the Philippines.^[1]

Taxonomy

Previously it was believed that the species of this genus belonged to the genus Angraecum within the subtribe Angraecinae. ^[2] The genus is named for Oakes Ames (1874-1950), founder of the orchid herbarium at Harvard University.^[3]

Description

These short-stemmed, miniature epiphytes form elliptic, coriaceous, distichous leaves. White flowers with pronounces spurs, indicating moth pollination, are formed on short, axillary racemes. ^[4]

Amesiella (Schltr. ex Garay 1972) es un género con tres especie de orquídeas epífitas. Se distribuyen por las Filipinas. Cuando no está florida, esta especie se confunde con Tuberolabium.

Amesiella philippinensis estaba anteriormente agrupada en el género africano Angraecum debido a su apariencia, pero fue segregada a su propio género por Garay en 1972.

Se distribuyen en las Filipinas. En zonas de vegetación abundante y clima cálido húmedo.

Descripción

Plantas pequeñas que producen unas inflorescencias con unas flores blancas, relativamente grandes en comparación con el resto de la planta.
