Sori in leaf-blades and sheaths, forming conspicuous elongate striae often running greater length of leaf, upon rupture forming dusty or semi-agglutinated brown-black sporelines ; spores rather dark reddish-brown, ovoid to spherical, provided with conspicuous irregular scale-like tubercles, which are rarely semi-anastomotic, chiefly 14-17 ^, the most elongate rarely 19 /i, in length.
