甲脇蝨科

Hoplopleuridae is a family of lice in the order Psocodea. There are about 6 genera and more than 150 described species in Hoplopleuridae.^[1][2][3]

Hoplopleuridae er en gruppe av hudparasitter som lever i pelsen på pattedyr. Den tilhører gruppen av lus (kalt Anoplura) som har sugende munndeler og får næring ved å drikke blod fra verten. Disse artene lever mest på gnagere.

Liv og utvikling

De fleste av artene er knyttet til gnagere, og denne familien forekommer på minst åtte forskjellige gnagerfamilier. det er også noen få arter som lever på spissmus og én enkelt art på pipeharer (pikaer). Gnagerfamilier som er brukt som verter av disse lusene omfatter rotter og mus (Muridae), ekorn (Sciuridae), marsvin-lignende gnagere (Caviidae) og syvsovere (Gliridae).

Utbredelse

Familien ser ut til å værer utbredt over det meste av verden, men ingen av artene er registrert fra Norge.
