아키시스과(Akysidae)는 메기목에 속하는 조기어류 과의 하나이다.[1] 아키시스류는 동남아시아의 넓은 지역에서 알려져 있다.[2] 민물에서 발견된다.[3] 파라키시스아과 종들은 말레이반도와 수마트라섬, 사라왁주 그리고 보르네 섬의 서부와 남부 지역에서 주로 발견된다.[3] 대부분의 종들은 비교적 물살이 빠른 강과 숲 속 시냇물의 수심이 깊은 부분에서 보통 발견된다.[4]
