This is probably the variety pauciflora, due to its geographic location and elevation and the presence within a few feet of its hybrid with Aquilegia pubescens (Photo ID 1073 3283 1658 0020). According to Philip A. Munz, A California Flora and Supplement, pg. 105, A. pubescens hybridizes rather freely with A. formosa var. pauciflora.
