Description ( Inglês )

fornecido por AmphibiaWeb articles
A spotted Kassina from the forests of R. D. Congo. Foot shorter than tibia (of the same length in K. maculosa), metatarsal tubercle smaller. Digital discs well-developed. Hidden part of femur barred in black and bright yellow. Lateral spots often confluent. Ventrum grey with light spots. Dorsum greyish brown with irregularly-placed elliptical black spots. Limbs with spots and transverse bars.It is difficult from the description of this little-known form to find characters which distinguish it from K. maculosa, and Laurent seems to be in doubt about its validity. According to Laurent the two forms have slightly overlapping ranges in northern R. D. Congo. This account was taken from "Treefrogs of Africa" by Arne Schiøtz with kind permission from Edition Chimaira (http://www.chimaira.de/) publishers, Frankfurt am Main.
