Distribucion en Costa Rica:
Distribucion General: Panama.

Females feed on the blood of large mammals including humans.

Immature stages unknown.

Hind tibiae with apical spurs; antennal flagellum with 8 distinct flagellomeres; ocelli present; eyes densely pilose; wing with cells r5 and m3 closed and petiolate; wing not particolored, hyaline or slightly tinted; mesoscutum with contrasting pale stripes; beard pale yellow to golden and black haired to mostly black haired; abdomen with anterior 2 sternites brown, remainder black and black pilose except for white haired hind margins on sternites 2-5.
