Uredinia chiefiy hypophyllous, scattered over large areas, often crowded, round, 0.25-0.5 mm. across, early naked, copiously pulverulent, chestnut-brown, ruptured epidermis inconspicuous ; urediniospores oval or obovate, 25-30 by 38-52 //, rounded above, obtuse or narrowed and semihyaline below ; wall dark golden-brown, thick, 3-6//, verrucose, with prominent and well separated longitudinal rows of tubercles, slightly, or not thickened at apex, pores 3, large, usually somewhat subequatorial, rather indistinct.
