Description: Anterior 2/3 of the body dark brown to black; posterior 1/3 pearly white (Ref. 7247). Body depth 2.0-2.1 in SL (Ref. 90102).

Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).

Recorded as having been or being farmed in rice fields (Ref. 119549).
