Micranthes plantaginea Small
Saxifraga planiaginea Small, Bull. Torrey Club 23: 366. 1896.
Leaves erect or ascending, 3-12 cm. long, the blades oblong, oval or rhombic, entire or remotely and finely toothed, gradually or cuneately narrowed at the base, the petiole-like bases shorter than the blades ; scapes relatively stout, erect, solitary, 20-35 cm. tall, finely glandular-hirsute ; cymules permanently contracted, the lower ones long-peduncled, the peduncles stout, much exceeding the bracts ; sepals broadly ovate ; petals obovate, about as broad as long, 1.5-2 mm. long, shorter than the sepals, some of them contracted into short and very broad claw-like bases, rounded at the apex.
Type locality : Spokane, Washington. Distribution : Mountains of eastern Washington.

Leaves erector ascending, 3-7 cm. long, the blades oblong to oval, rounded at the apex, or obtuse, glandular-denticulate, more or less ciliolate, often thinly pubescent above, narrowed into relatively slender petiole-like bases, which are shorter than the blade ; scapes erect, typically solitary, generally 30-40 cm. tall, copiously and evenly glandular-villous throughout, paniculate above ; cymules aggregated into clusters terminating the very slender branches of the inflorescence ; sepals oblong to ovate-oblong, about 1.5 mm. long, eciliate; petals white, 4^.5 mm. long, the blades oblong or elliptic, 2-toothed at the apex, contracted into claws at the base; filaments subulate; follicles about 3 mm. high, purplish, the tips ultimately spreading.
Type collected at Cedar Hill, Vancouver Island, May 12, 1887, by John Macoun.

Leaves spreading or arching, 5-11 cm. long, the blades elliptic to narrowly oblong, 2-5 cm. long, obtuse or actuish, shallowly toothed especiall}near the apex, sparingly pubescent, narrowed into slender petiole-like bases, which are often longer than the blades; scapes erect, typically solitary, mostly 3-4 dm. tall, finely glandular-pubescent, more closely so above than below, interruptedly racemose-paniculate above, the lower branches slightly elongating in fruit; cymules few-flowered, the flowers clustered at the ends of the slender branches of the inflorescence; sepals triangular, often deltoid, 1.5-2 mm. long, eciliate; petals white or pinkish, about 2.5 mm. long, the blades elliptic, acute, short-clawed; filaments subulate; follicles 4.5 mm. high, green, the tips spreading.
