Schlechterella is a genus of plants in the family Apocynaceae (the dogbane family).[1] It is native to Africa, found in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda.[2]
As of October 2018, the genus contained two species:[3]
The genus was circumscribed by Karl Moritz Schumann in H.G.A.Engler & K.A.E.Prantl, Nat. Pflanzenfam., Gesamtregister: on page 462 in 1899.[2]

Son enredaderas sufrútices que alcanzan los 1,5 m de alto; órganos subterráneos cilíbdricos, tubérculos napiformes o oblongos. Los brotes son perennes o anuales, con corteza escamosa, papirácea, glabros o escabrosos. Las hojas (sub-) sésiles; herbáceas, de 3-10 cm de largo y 1.2 cm de ancho, lineales o obovadas, basalmente cuneiformes, el ápice agudo a acuminado, onduladas o de revolutas, glabras, escabrosas, con la línea interpetiolar.
Las inflorescencias son axilares y terminales,con 9-15 flores, simples, laxas, con brácteas florales.[1]
