Ionoxalis galeottii (Turcz.) Rose, Contr. U. S. Nat Herb. 10: 112. 1906. Oxalis Galeottii Turcz. Bull. Soc. Nat. Mosc. 31 l : 433. 1858.
Plants 1.5-4 dm. tall, the bulb-scales several-ribbed ; leaves mostly one half as tall as the scape or less, the petioles loosely pubescent ; leaflets 3, the blades cuneate to cuneateobcordate with a broadly V-shaped sinus, deep-green and sparingly pubescent above, paler and copiously pubescent beneath, the lobes ovate; scapes sparingly pubescent ; cymes 4-15flowered ; pedicels 1-1.5 cm. long, glabrous; sepals oblong to oblong-ovate, 3-3.5 mm. long, glabrous, each bearing 2 short apical tubercles; petals violet, 12-16 mm. long; shorter filaments glabrous ; longer filaments pubescent, each with a prominent appendage on the back below the middle.
Type locality : Oaxaca, Mexico. Distribution : Southern Mexico.

Ionoxalis angulata Small, sp. nov Plants 1.5-3 dm. tall, the bulb-scales 3-ribbed ; leaves nearly as tall as the scape, the petioles sparingly pubescent ; leaflets 3, the blades broadly obdeltoid, 4-7.5 cm. wide, glabrous in age, bright-green above, slightly paler beneath, the lobes angulate, those of the larger leaflets irregularly toothed ; scapes glabrous ; cymes 5-11-flowered ; pedicels 1-2 cm. long, glabrous ; sepals oblong to ovate-oblong, 3-4 mm. long, glabrous or nearly so, each bearing 4 broad often partially confluent apical tubercles ; petals violet, 14-1S mm. long; shorter filaments glabrous; longer filaments pubescent; each with a very prominent appendage on the back about the middle.
Type collected in Orizaba, Mexico, in 1855, Frederick Milller 7S6. Distribution : Known only from the type locality.
