Der Schmalblättrige Strandflieder ist eine ausdauernde krautige Pflanze, die Wuchshöhen von 30 bis 70 Zentimetern erreicht. Die Blätter sind 12 bis 30 Zentimeter lang, lanzettlich-spatelförmig, lang verschmälert und meist bespitzt. Der Hauptnerv ist kräftig, die Fiedernerven sind schwach. Der Blütenstand ist ungeflügelt und groß. Seine Äste sind locker stehend und oft bogig zurückgekrümmt. Sterile Äste sind nur wenige vorhanden oder fehlen ganz. Der Kelch ist 5 bis 7 Millimeter groß und weiß bis blassviolett gefärbt. Zwischen den 5 dreieckigen Kelchzähnen befinden weitere sehr kleine Zähne.
Die Blütezeit reicht von Juli bis Oktober.
Die Chromosomenzahl beträgt 2n = 36, 54 oder 72.[1]
Der Schmalblättrige Strandflieder kommt im Mittelmeerraum auf Salzmarschen vor.
Ein Synonym ist Limonium angustifolium (Tausch) Degen.

The flowers are white to pale violet, with a calyx of about 5–7 mm.[2][3] The flowering period extends from June to September.[1]
This species can be found in Southern Europe, North Africa and in Southwest Asia.[4] It is a plant of Mediterranean coastal habitat such as beaches, salt marshes, and coastal prairie, and other sandy saline habitats.

Cáliz de 5,3-7 mm, más largo que la bráctea interna, hirsuto-patente en los nervios; dientes de 0,4-1 mm, triangulares, agudos, separados por pequeños lóbulos más o menos truncado-dentados. Corola de 6-8 mm, violácea. Tiene un número de cromosomas de 2n = 36. Florece de Junío a Novíembre.[1]
Se encuentra en suelos salobres muy húmedos, bordes de esteros., donde se distribuyen por el Sur de Europa, Norte de África, suroeste de Asia, Macaronesia (Azores).
Limonium angustifolium fue descrita por (Tausch) Turrill y publicado en Bull. Misc. Inform. Kew 1937: 252 (1937)[2][3]
Limonium: nombre genérico que procede del griego leimon, que significa "pradera húmeda", aludiendo al hábitat de muchas de las especies del género.[4]
