Description: And I've remembered why I got so excited about this plant when I first saw it. Those violet stripes are very smart. That was a couple of years back when I saw a clump growing out of a retaining wall at Marchant's. Theirs was not as big as this - the much drier site presumably kept it stunted (it's nothing if not adaptable) but I remember the dark stems curving out from the base of the plant and these very fine flowers.
