Neorossia leptodons is a species of bobtail squid native to the southwestern Pacific Ocean, from New South Wales () to South Australia (). It lives at depths from 130 to 1,110 m.[3][4]

N. leptodons exhibits sexual dimorphism. Females grow to 77.5 mm in mantle length (ML), while males are not known to exceed 42 mm ML.[4]

The type specimen was collected in the Great Australian Bight, South Australia ( to ). It is deposited at the Museum of Victoria in Melbourne.[5]

Neorossia leptodons is een dwerginktvis die voorkomt in de zuidwestelijke Stille Oceaan, van Nieuw-Zuid-Wales 32° 08′ ZB, 153° 07′ OL tot Zuid-Australië 33° 58′ ZB, 131° 22′ OL . De soort komt voor op een diepte 130 tot 1.110 m.[1][2]

N. leptodons vertoont seksueel dimorfisme. Vrouwtjes groeien tot 77,5 mm in de mantellengte,mannetjes worden niet groter worden dan 42 mm mantellengte.[2]

Het soorttype is verzameld in de Grote Australische Bocht 37° 19′ 0″ ZB, 138° 36′ 30″ OL en bevindt zich in het Museum van Victoria in Melbourne.[3]
