Diagnosis: Protoconch unknown. Teleoconch large, pyriform, thin, with large aperture, single, rounded, unthickened terminal varix adjacent to thin, flared outer lip in adult specimens. Shell sculpture limited to fine, widely spaced, spiral cords. Operculum very small, sharply tapering anteriorly, with anterior terminal nucleus. Proboscis wall extremely thick, paired proboscis retractor muscles absent. Rachidian teeth lacking lateral basal denticles. Salivary glands large, differentiated. Osphrachum bipectinate.
