Hylomyscus kerbispeterhansi és una espècie de rosegador de la família dels múrids. És endèmic de Kenya. Té una llargada de cap a gropa de 80–103 mm, la cua de 108–158 mm, els peus de 18–22 mm, les orelles de 17–22 mm i un pes de fins a 39 g. El pelatge, llarg i suau, és gris pissarra al dors i gris blanquinós al ventre. L'espècie fou anomenada en honor del zoòleg estatunidenc Julian Kerbis Peterhans.[1]

The Kerbis Peterhans's wood mouse (Hylomyscus kerbispeterhansi) is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found in western Kenya, and presumably eastern Uganda on Mt. Elgon, and was first described as a new species to science in 2014. Its natural habitat is tropical montane rainforest. It occurs in sympatry with Hylomyscus endorobae in the Mau Forest of Kenya.[1] The specific epithet honours American mammalogist and educator Julian Kerbis Peterhans.

Hylomyscus kerbispeterhansi (Demos, Agwanda & Hickerson, 2014) è un roditore della famiglia dei Muridi endemico del Kenya.
Roditore di piccole dimensioni, con la lunghezza della testa e del corpo tra 80 e 103 mm, la lunghezza della coda tra 108 e 158 mm, la lunghezza del piede tra 18 e 22 mm, la lunghezza delle orecchie tra 17 e 22 mm e un peso fino a 39 g.[1]
La pelliccia è lunga, soffice e fine. Le parti dorsali sono grigio ardesia con la punta dei peli rosso-brunastra e dei peli più lunghi bruno-nerastri in particolare sulla groppa, i fianchi gradualmente assumono un colore bruno-rossastro chiaro, mentre le parti ventrali sono grigio-biancastre. Le orecchie sono marroni scure. I piedi sono corti e stretti, il dorso delle zampe è ricoperto di corti peli marroni chiari, con gli artigli ricoperti da ciuffi di peli bianchi. La coda è più lunga della testa e del corpo, è marrone scura e priva di peli, eccetto un ciuffo di peli lunghi all'estremità. Le femmine hanno un paio di mammelle ascellari e due paia inguinali.
È una specie arboricola e notturna.
Le femmine danno alla luce 3-5 piccoli alla volta.
Questa specie è conosciuta soltanto sulla catena del Monte Elgon, nel Kenya occidentale, ai confini con l'Uganda.
Vive nelle foreste sopra i 2.300 metri di altitudine.
Questa specie, essendo stata scoperta solo recentemente, non è stata sottoposta ancora a nessun criterio di conservazione.

커비스피터한스숲쥐(Hylomyscus kerbispeterhansi)는 쥐과에 속하는 설치류의 일종이다.[1] 케냐 서부에서 발견되며, 우간다 동부 엘곤 산에서도 서식하는 것으로 추정된다. 2014년 신종으로 처음 기술되었다. 자연 서식지는 열대 산지 우림이다. 동소종으로 케냐 마우 숲에서 발견되는 작은발숲쥐(H. endorobae)가 있다.[2]
