Chromis chrysura és una espècie de peix de la família dels pomacèntrids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.

Morfologia

Els mascles poden assolir els 14 cm de longitud total.^[2]

Distribució geogràfica

N'hi ha tres poblacions aïllades: 1) Sud del Japó, Illes Ryukyu i Taiwan; 2) Mar del Corall, incloent-hi Nova Caledònia, Vanuatu, Fidji i l'est d'Austràlia; 3) Maurici i Reunió. També present a les Illes Filipines.^[2]

Chromis chrysura, the stout chromis, is a diurnal species of damselfish belonging to the genus Chromis. Several isolated populations of the species have been found. The first is in Taiwan, the Ryukyu Islands and Southern Japan, the second one lies in the Coral Sea in New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, and Eastern Australia, and the third one lies in the Western Indian Ocean in Mauritius and Réunion. It is also found in the Philippines and is possibly found in India.^[1] It inhabits outer coral or rocky reefs. It usually forms large aggregations in shallow waters and feeds on zooplankton. It is oviparous, and the males of the species guard and aerate the eggs.^[2]

Chromis chrysura (Bliss, 1883) è un pesce osseo appartenente alla famiglia Pomacentridae e alla sottofamiglia Pomacentrinae^[1].

Distribuzione e habitat

La specie ha un areale disgiunto in tre subpopolazioni: una nel Pacifico orientale (Giappone meridionale, isole Ryūkyū e Taiwan), una nel mar dei Coralli (Nuova Caledonia, isole Figi, Vanuatu e nordest dell'Australia) e una nell'Oceano Indiano centroccidentale (Mauritius e Réunion). Esistono segnalazioni dalle Filippine. Appare più comune nelle acque subtropicali che in quelle strettamente tropicali^[2][3].

Vive in gruppi nella parte esterna delle barriere coralline e nei canali tra i reef, si può incontrare in gruppi numerosi nelle acque poco profonde delle lagune^[2][3]. Si può trovare a profondità fra 6 e 45 metri^[3].

Descrizione

L'aspetto è quello tipico del genere Chromis ma ha corpo particolarmente massiccio. La colorazione è abbastanza simile a quella di Chromis margaritifer, scura nella parte anteriore del corpo e biancastra nella parte posteriore con le due colorazioni sono divise da una linea netta subverticale ma si può riconoscere per il corpo più alto e massiccio, le dimensioni maggiori e la parte scura brunastra più che nera, con il bordo delle scaglie più chiaro. In questa specie il colore scuro comprende la parte spinosa della pinna dorsale e più di metà della pinna anale, compresi i raggi molli, nonché il peduncolo caudale e la pinna caudale^[3].

Si nutre di zooplancton, soprattutto copepodi^[4].

Riproduzione

È una specie ovipara, le uova aderiscono al fondale e vengono sorvegliate dal maschio^[2].

Chromis chrysura is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van rifbaarzen of koraaljuffertjes (Pomacentridae).^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1883 door Bliss.

長棘光鰓魚，又稱短身光鰓雀鯛，俗名為厚殼仔，為輻鰭魚綱鱸形目隆頭魚亞目雀鯛科的其中一種。

分布

本魚分布於印度西太平洋區，包括日本、台灣、斐濟、萬那杜、新喀里多尼亞、澳洲東部、模里西斯、留尼旺等海域。

深度

水深0.2至0.3公尺。

特徵

本魚體呈卵圓形而側扁，魚體較高，眼和吻的距離短。體呈茶褐色，魚體後端約自背鰭鰭條部開始皆為白色，背鰭、臀鰭及尾鰭亦是。眼中大，上側位。口小，上頜骨末端僅及眼前緣；齒細小，圓錐狀。吻自眼下方的鱗片成灰白色。體側每一鱗片末端顏色較深，胸鰭基底黑色，鰓蓋末端有2枚具棘的鱗片。幼魚的頭、尾柄及各鰭略帶藍色。背鰭硬棘13枚；軟條14至15枚；臀鰭硬棘2枚；軟條13至14枚。體長可達17公分。

生態

棲息於岩礁區外圍水域較淺處，常成群活動，以動物性浮游生物及藻類為食。夏季為其產卵期，其將卵產於石面上。

經濟利用

大多用來做觀賞魚，尤其是小魚體色鮮明。
