Anterior dorsal rays shortened; caudal-fin rays 8; pectoral girdle with 4 radials, 2 with rudimentary notches; teeth small; chin pores one pore diameter apart, not in a pit but with anterior skin fold; gill opening ventral end slightly below level of lower margin of eye; pectoral without rudimentary rays; HL 19.9% SL, preanal 35% SL; body dark, peritoneum black, mouth black, tongue densely black-dotted (Ref. 42734).
