The carapine grenadier (Coryphaenoides carapinus) is a species of deep-sea fish in the family Macrouridae.[2][3]
Its name (pronounced /ˈkærəpaɪn/) refers to its resemblance to the Carapus pearlfishes.[4]
Description
The carapine grenadier is pale grey with a peppering of melanophores.[5] It is up to 45 cm (18 in) in length. It has a narrow band of pointed teeth in the premaxillae.[6][7]
Habitat
The carapine grenadier lives in the Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean; it is bathypelagic, living at depths of 384–5,610 m (1,260–18,406 ft).[8]
Behaviour
The carapine grenadier feeds on polychaete worms, copepods, amphipods, isopods and mysids.[7]

Långstjärtad skoläst (Coryphaenoides carapinus) är en djuphavsfisk i familjen skolästfiskar.
Utseende
Den långstjärtade skolästen är en långsträckt fisk med gråaktig, kilformig kropp, triangelformat huvud och lång stjärt som smalnar av till en spets.[2] Arten kan bli upp till 45 cm lång.[3]
Vanor
Arten är en bottenfisk som lever på djup mellan 380 och 5 600 m. Födan består av ryggradslösa djur som havsborstmaskar, hoppkräftor, märlkräftor, gråsuggor och pungräkor.[3]
Utbredning
Den långstjärtade skolästen finns på båda sidor av Nordatlanten (från Kanada respektive Irland söderut[4]), i sydöstra Atlanten samt i södra Indiska oceanen.
