Distinguished by the following characters: caudal peduncle depth 13.0-13.9% of SL, average 13.35%; second dorsal fin base length 19.1-22.2% SL, average 20.9%; anal fin base length 16.0-18.9% SL, average 17.21%; indistinct orange bands on the head that disappear in preservative; floor of mouth is liberally covered with tiny melanophores (Ref. 77038).Description: transverse scale rows 10-11; zigzag scale rows on caudal peduncle 9 (Ref. 77038).
