Caryocolum fischerella Treitschke 1833

Caryocolum fischerella is a moth of the family Gelechiidae. It is found in central and northern Europe.

Larva

The wingspan is 11–13 mm. The forewings are mid-brown. The moths are on wing from June to July depending on the location.

The larvae feed on Saponaria officinalis and Saponaria ocymoides. They are gregarious and feed within spun terminal shoots of their host plant. The larvae can be found in May. Pupation takes place in a web between the leaves of the host plant.^[2]

Het zeepje (Caryocolum fischerella) is een vlinder uit de familie tastermotten (Gelechiidae). De wetenschappelijke naam is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1833 door Treitschke.

De waardplant van deze soort is zeepkruid (Saponaria officinalis). De rups leeft in een samengebonden top van de plant. In vroege stadia mineert de rups het blad van de waardplant.

De soort komt voor in Oost- en Centraal-Europa en is ook waargenomen in Frankrijk, Denemarken en Zweden. In 2013 is de soort voor het eerst waargenomen in Nederland in Vlodrop-Station.
