Diagnosis: Body short, blunt, measures 16 to 20 mm long and 1 to 2 mm wide for 54 segments. Color reddish yellow with orange colored cirri. Prostomium broadly rounded in front, with a straight posterior margin. A pair of large eyes near the postectal margins of the prostomium; nuchal papilla absent. Dorsal cirri asymmetrically cordiform (fig. 6) with the apex pointing toward the dorsal median line. Ventral cirri oval, with long axis pointing upward. Setae with short, broad appendages.
Distribution: South Georgia; Enderby Land and MacRobertson Coast; Kerguelen, in 7-310 m.
Genetyllis polyphylla is een borstelworm uit de familie Phyllodocidae. Het lichaam van de worm bestaat uit een kop, een cilindrisch, gesegmenteerd lichaam en een staartstukje. De kop bestaat uit een prostomium (gedeelte voor de mondopening) en een peristomium (gedeelte rond de mond) en draagt gepaarde aanhangsels (palpen, antennen en cirri).
Genetyllis polyphylla werd in 1897 voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven door Ehlers.
