Description ( Anglèis )

Unarmed trees. Leaves alternate, 2-pinnate. Flowers numerous, borne in heads, these solitary, clustered or racemose. Flowers whitish. Stamens many, exserted, united at the base. Fruit a flat curved indehiscent pod.

Related to Albizia, but our species of Enterolobium is easily separated from our species of Albizia by the coiled black pods.

Enterolobium is a genus of 12 species of flowering plants in the family Fabaceae, native to tropical and warm-temperate regions of the Americas. They are medium-sized to large trees.[2][3]
