Found in dry stony places from 1600-2200 m. Easily recognised by the sessile fruits and clearly winged nutlets.

Erect to decumbent branched annual. Stem and branches with appressed has. Basal leaves obspathulate to narrow oblong, obtuse, petiolate, including petiole 10-20 x 2-2.5 mm, covered on both surfaces with appressed hairs, some suberect and arising from a tuberculate base. Cauline leaves sessile. Flowers in distant sessile heads; bracts leaf-like, but smaller. Calyx c. 2 mm long; lobes oblong. Corolla blue, infundibuliform, c. 23 mm long, limb broad. Nutlets 2.5-3 mm long, broadly triangular, winged with appendiculate margin; appendages tooth-like, glochidiate, surface tuberculate-verruculose.
