A very slender twining perennial, much branched, glabrous or pubescent. Leaves 2.5-10 cm x 2.5-12 mm, linear or narrowly lanceolate, obtuse, acute or acuminate, base rounded, glabrous on both the sides with hairs on the nerves, petiole 2-5 mm long, minutely hairy. Cyme 2-4 flowered, peduncle longer or shorter than the leaves. Pedicel 4-13 mm, glabrous. Bracts c. 1-1.5 mm long, almost glabrous. Calyx 12-13 mm long, lobes ovate-lanceolate, hispid. Corolla purple, 8-9 mm in diameter, lobes linear-oblong, puberulous within, coronal scales longer than the staminal tube, tip acute, incurved. Pollen masses horizontal. Follicle 8-8.5 cm x 3.5 mm, tapering towards the tip, glabrous, striated.
