This genus and species is distinguished by its plicate (pleated) upper lip.[1] It also has a short thoracic adhesive apparatus that is not much longer than it is broad; it consists of longitudinal pleats of skin.[2] It also has serrations on the pectoral fin spine on the anterior that point toward the tip of the spine, as well as serrations on the posterior edge.[2] It also has wide gill openings.[2] This species reaches a length of 3.9 centimetres (1.5 in) SL.[3]

Caelatoglanis zonatus is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van de zuigmeervallen (Erethistidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 2005 door Ng & Kottelat.

Є бентопелагічною рибою. Воліє до прісних водойм. Вдень ховається серед опалого лістя та серед каміння, або апатично лежать на ґрунті. Полює вночі. Живиться дрібними водними безхребетними.
Є ендеміком М'янми, зустрічається у річці Атаран.
Ємність може бути невисока — 25-30 см, об'єм — від 60 літрів. На дно насипають дрібний пісок темних тонів. Із декорацій підійдуть середнього розміру каміння неправильної форми. Дно вистилають опалим листям і тонкими гілками. Рослини актуальні тільки уздовж задньої стінки акваріума.
Є мирними. Краще тримати групою від 10 особин. Сусідами можуть бути не великі види шістур, в'юни роду пангіо, расбори, даніо. Їдять дрібний живий харч. Швидко звикають до замінників — фаршу.
З технічних засобів знадобиться внутрішній фільтр середньої потужності для створення помірного течії, компресор. Температура тримання повинна становити 22-25°C.
