Spots subcircular, light-brown, with a slightly raised dark reddish-brown margin, reaching a diameter of 2-8 mm., several often confluent; pycnidia scattered over the infected spot, black, on the upper side of the leaf, reaching a diameter of 55-80 n spores ovoid, often unequalsided, hyaline, containing two oil-drops, 2.5-3 X 8-10 m-
