There aren't many, if any, of these carp left in the Gainer Springs group. Many years ago they were introduced to keep the aquatic weeds at bay. While this behemoth doesn't have much to worry about from any of the other residents, old age is taking it's toll.McCormick SpringsEconfina Creek Canoe TrailNorthwest Florida Water Management District NWFWMDBay County, FloridaOlympus OM-D E-M514-42mm II LensPT-EP08 Underwater Housing, PPO-EP01 Lens Port & 14-42mm Zoom Gear

One of the large grass carp that frequent Morrison Springs grazes in the shallows near the beach. These non-native species have been introduced in many areas to control aquatic vegetation. Morrison Springs Walton County Florida, USASeaLife DC1400
An opportunistic Bluegill tags along beside one of the Grass Carp as it forages over the bottom, waiting to see just what might turn up that would be worth eating. I imagine it reciprocates in some way; perhaps it makes sure the other fish don't make fun of the carp for being goofy looking.Morrison Springs Walton County Florida, USASeaLife DC1400
