Old Wife

The St. Helena white seabream (Diplodus helenae) is a species of seabream, a marine fish of the family Sparidae.^[1] The species was named by Henri Émile Sauvage in 1879.

Description

This benthopelagic fish grows to an average length of 20 cm, maximum 31 cm.^[2]

Distribution

The fish inhabits rocky bottoms in waters between 5 and 15 metres depth. It occurs in the southeastern Atlantic, off the coast of Saint Helena.^[2]

Distribución geográfica

Se encuentra en las costas del sureste del Atlántico: es una especie endémica de Isla Santa Elena.

Diplodus sargus helenae is een ondersoort van de straalvinnige vissen uit de familie van de zeebrasems (Sparidae).^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1879 door Sauvage.
