Rasbora dandia is distinguished from all congers from India and Sri Lanka by the combination of the following characters: axial stripe broader than one scale-height, prominent throughout; mouth terminal; symphysial knob not prominent; ½ 4/ 1/ 1 ½ scales on body in transverse line; 27-31 pored scales on lateral line on body; 13-14 predorsal scales; and caudal fin without any prominet markings (Ref. 84057).
