體長橢圓形。頭大，頭部稍凸。吻具小缺刻。眼大，水平眼徑較吻稍長；眼間隔狹窄且無鱗。口大，傾斜，兩側不對稱，上頜達下眼中央下方；齒尖突，上下頜齒呈絨毛帶狀。前鰓蓋骨邊緣多少為游離狀。鰓耙細長。眼側被櫛鱗，盲側被圓鱗；胸鰭上方之側線呈弧形。背鰭起點於在後鼻孔後方，鰭條由前往後漸長；胸鰭短，眼側胸鰭內側鰭條分枝，盲側胸鰭鰭條均不分枝；腹鰭I+5；尾鰭中部15鰭條分枝。體於眼側呈淡黃褐色，背﹑臀鰭基部下方有黑褐帶，盲側灰白色。
棲地
