Diagnosis: maxillary barbels shorter than head, provided with a basilar membrane; mandibular barbels with short and simple ramifications; holotype with 18 mandibular teeth; dorsal-fin spine smooth; pectoral-fin spines more finely denticulate on outer than on inner margin; adipose fin long but low; caudal fin rounded (Ref. 57223).Coloration: background yellowish-grey with fine black punctuations; belly light (Ref. 57223).

Microsynodontis polli

Microsynodontis polli is a species of upside-down catfish native to Guinea from the Gbin River and Liberia from Saint John. This species grows to a length of 4.1 centimetres (1.6 in) TL.[2]

Etymology

The catfish is named in honor of ichthyologist Max Poll, the Curator, of the Musée de Congo Belge in Tervuren.[3]
