Myloplus arnoldi is a medium to large omnivorous fish of the family Serrasalmidae from South America, where it is found in the Amazon, Xingu and Tocantins River basins. It can grow to a length of 33 cm (13 in).^[1] They are also called the silver dollar and are one of the fish referred to as "silver dollars". These fish are capable of delivering serious bites to humans.

Etymology

The fish is named in honor of German aquarist Johann Paul Arnold (1869-1952), who donated the type specimens to the Zoological Museum of Berlin.^[2]

Myleus arnoldi is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van de echte piranha's (Serrasalmidae).^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1936 door Ahl.

阿氏鋸腹脂鯉，為輻鰭魚綱脂鯉目脂鯉亞目脂鯉科的其中一個種。分布於南美洲亞馬遜河、鑫谷河及托坎廷斯河流域，體長可達15.7公分，棲息在底中層水域，生活習性不明。
